Goodbye 2013- Hello 2014!

 As another year comes to a close I find myself in the painting/experimental part of my art making process.  This is one of my most recent alcohol ink on vellum pieces. I love this combo and I am starting to combine print making techniques with the inks.  
  I have also been working with animal jaw bones. The images below are made from muskrat jawbones. I call them Terminator Orchids.  I am so inspired by the bone sculptures of Judy Onofrio. http://www.judyonofrio.com/work/new/default.html Check out her work if you haven't seen it. Amazing!

Finished building this today and bought a special 26" circle kiln shelf so that I can fire it. Now to slow dry it and get it fired!

 I made good progress today. It has been a while since I made a piece with these extruded coils.  After touching one I  suddenly remembered how fragile the small coils are once they get bone dry.  OMG.  I am crazy.

Ink and Hot Glue

I  have been working on these for the past few days. I pulled out the dusty glue gun and combined it with the alcohol inks. I am obsessed with the transparent curly glue lines. The bottom piece was from the day before I pulled out the gg.  Sometimes I just need to paint. I am about to start a seven foot sculpture of Israel,  and this is what I am doing.  Creativity is an interesting process to watch. Especially your own.
